✈️💫 Flying High with Virgin Atlantic: Upper Class
Join us as we make our way from Devon to Manchester Airport, stay overnight at the Holiday Inn (right opposite Terminal 2), and kick off our adventure in style with Virgin Atlantic Upper Class! 💺🥂
After a comfy night’s stay, we simply walked across to the terminal, checked in, and headed straight to the 1903 Lounge, which is complimentary for Upper Class guests. We loved this lounge — the food was delicious, plentiful, and the perfect way to start our journey.
Then it was time to board… and turn left! 😍 We settled into our amazing Upper Class seats and, of course, I said yes to the champagne — why not? 🥂
The crew were fantastic from the moment we took off: quick drink service, menu choices confirmed, and absolutely superb food throughout the flight. I even had a little rest before enjoying a mile-high afternoon tea about 90 minutes before landing. ☕️🍰

Our journey to India began in true style with Virgin Atlantic's Upper Class service from London Heathrow to Delhi aboard the Airbus A350.
One of the biggest perks of flying Upper Class from Heathrow is the exclusive Upper Class Wing. From the moment we arrived, the experience felt effortless. We glided through the dedicated check-in area and private security channel in just a few minutes before emerging directly into the duty-free shopping area. It's a seamless, stress-free start to your journey and a real luxury compared with the main terminal.
From there, we made our way to the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, which is easily one of the best airport lounges we've visited. The stylish design, relaxed atmosphere, and exceptional service immediately stood out. There's an extensive à la carte dining menu, a well-stocked bar serving everything from barista-made coffees to cocktails and champagne, plenty of comfortable seating, quiet spaces to relax, showers, and even wellness facilities. It's the perfect place to unwind before a long-haul flight, and we could easily have spent several more hours there.
Before long, it was time to board. Walking onto the beautiful Airbus A350 and turning left into the Upper Class cabin is always a special feeling. We were warmly welcomed by the fantastic Virgin Atlantic crew and quickly settled into our spacious suites with a glass of champagne in hand – the perfect way to begin our holiday.
The service throughout the flight was outstanding. The cabin crew were friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to enjoy looking after everyone onboard. The food was both delicious and plentiful, with an excellent choice of dishes, and drinks were regularly offered throughout the journey.
After enjoying a great meal, I managed to get several hours of sleep in the comfortable lie-flat bed, waking refreshed before our arrival into Delhi. It was a wonderful way to travel and meant we arrived ready for our onward flight and the next stage of our Indian adventure.
