If there’s one place that continues to capture our imagination trip after trip, it’s Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. 🌴 With six magical visits under my belt, we’ve become something of seasoned explorers of the Most Magical Place on Earth — and experienced it from multiple angles, both staying within the Disney bubble and just beyond it.
🛏️ Staying On-Site: The Full Disney Experience
Over the years, we’ve had the joy of staying at two incredible on-property resorts:
🎶 Pop Century Resort
Fun, colorful, and perfect for Disney lovers of all ages, Pop Century celebrates the best of the '50s through the '90s with larger-than-life icons and playful décor. It’s a budget-friendly favorite with direct access to the Disney Skyliner 🚡, which makes getting to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios a breeze.
🌅 Coronado Springs Resort
A moderate resort with Southwestern flair, Coronado Springs offers a more grown-up, peaceful vibe without losing the Disney charm. Think lakeside views, beautiful architecture, and fantastic dining options — ideal if you’re looking for a resort-style stay with a touch of luxury.
🏙️ Off-Site Adventures: Staying on International Drive
We’ve stayed a few times at the Quality Inn International on International Drive (I-Drive) — and while it’s a different vibe from staying inside the parks, it definitely has its perks! 🌴☀️
For starters, it’s much more budget-friendly 💸 — perfect if you’re trying to stretch your dollars without missing out on the Orlando fun.
The location puts you right in the middle of it all, surrounded by:
🍔 Great restaurants — from quick bites to international eats
🛍️ Tons of shopping — including outlet malls and souvenir stores
🎡 Attractions like ICON Park — with the giant wheel, museums, and entertainment
It’s also a super convenient base if you’re planning to visit:
🎢 Universal Studios
🐬 SeaWorld
...or just want a more laid-back, flexible trip. I-Drive gives you easy access to everything, with a more relaxed pace — and more money left over for souvenirs and snacks! 🎟️🧃🧳

🏰✨ Disneyland Paris Magic: A Stay at Hotel Cheyenne & Santa Fe
If you're dreaming of Disney magic with a European twist, Disneyland Paris is a destination that delivers charm, excitement, and a sprinkle of fairy dust just outside the heart of France. ✨
We’ve been lucky enough to stay at two of the resort’s most iconic on-site hotels — Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne and Hotel Santa Fe — and both offer something truly special for families, couples, or anyone chasing the magic.
🤠🌵 Hotel Cheyenne: Woody’s Wild West Charm
For our first and second visit, we stayed at Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne, which immediately charmed us with its immersive Toy Story-inspired Wild West theme. It genuinely felt like stepping into a frontier town — complete with saloon-style buildings and wooden walkways.
What we loved:
It offers a slightly upgraded feel compared to Santa Fe, while still being great value.
🌵🏜️ Hotel Santa Fe: Cars-Themed Fun on a Budget
Our third and fourth stay at Disneyland Paris was at Hotel Santa Fe, and it was such a fun introduction to the resort. This hotel is themed around Disney-Pixar’s Cars, with bright colours, desert vibes, and lots of Route 66 energy.
Highlights:
It’s simple, clean, and fun — perfect if you’re planning to spend most of your time in the parks but still want the perks of staying on Disney property.
🎢 The Disneyland Paris Experience
Both hotels made accessing the parks super easy — and staying on-site gave us that early park entry (Extra Magic Time), which is totally worth it to get on top rides with minimal queues.
During our stays, some of our favourite experiences in the parks included:
And of course — the food! From Mickey-shaped waffles to French pastries in the park cafés, it’s a dream for snack lovers. 🥐🍫
🧳 Why Stay On-Site?
If you’re torn between on-site and off-site, here’s why we loved staying at Cheyenne and Santa Fe:
